HEADING:
"It doesn't start in the studio, it starts where you want it to."
People say that doesn't suit you, its not going to get you far. But they were wrong and were proved wrong by (name) and (name), together they became the female Hip Hop duo (group name) still on the rise.
The one place that created the dream in to a career happened in the bedroom, where all ideas were brainstormed to produce the music we here from them today.
why per-sue music in that field?
although this industry is male dominate. We've had an interest in Hip-Hop from a young age, we love the fashion, beat and the lyrics. we believe this is the best way to convey our music to the people and to show that women can be who they want to be if they put there mind to it.
What brought you to make a duo?
Me and (name) have known each other since our primary school days, from there it's like we became a family. We both love Hip-Hop, we would do cover songs, watch underground rap and music video from the 80's/90's, like Run DMC. Eventually we started to write our own lyrics over existing music track and over beats we created.
Originally we planned to make it a 4 member group, but as you can see there is only two of us, it didn't go well, we had different views. They may not be with us right now but we still keep in touch we them.

Music Video Analysis
This song was released in ... It reminisces on BIG's past and to tell the audience what struggles he had to go through to make it into the music industry and how he is living 'The life'.
The video uses mise-en-scene to convey clearly what is in the lyrics, also because music is universal, people who don't understand the language can depict what is going on from the video.
Location/Setting:
In the video it takes place in 6 different setting, near a corner shop, in front of a house, prison cell, a dining room, which look back on the past and a swimming pool, a roof top/a balcony to show how he was at that present time. Out of all the settings the prison cell i thought would have the most impact on the audience to his rough past. The prison cell shows how isolated and confined a place is, the audience can see how hard it is to communicate with others in the cell than with people surrounding. In addition the scene when he places the pictures on the wall cover part of the words Speed + Pot, this may imply that he may want to move forward, using the photo to inspire him to make his dream has a rapper a reality. the effect it has on the audience is you finally realise what you want when you've reached the bottom and at the peek of your troubles.
Colours:
A yellow hue was used to indicate a flash back from when BIG was in prison and with his family. For example the clip at 3:07 -3:13 the mother is smiling then you get a glimpse of the relation between him and his mother in the past. The audience can see how proud she is to boast about her son, where as the past should would have felt ashamed and disappointed.
The use of the yellow hue during the prison set to exaggerate how dirty a prison cell is and to distinctively display his memory of the past to the audience.
Costume:
He wore casual clothes; t-shirts, jeans and trainers, this was to show off to the audience how he blended in his neighbourhood in Brooklyn, the audience receive the feeling of how it was like in his childhood.
furthermore, at 0.30 he is wearing a baseball jersey it says 'Bad Boy', this could signify he was a trouble maker, and ill-mannered. Plus to show how his life is good, he wears shirts, black leather jackets, big chains and rings. It indicates to the audience that the music industry has done so much to make him wealthy, the champagne as a prop emphasises his status even more.
